5-minute Vagus Nerve Activation

Ground yourself with the Parasympathetic Nervous System

Go ahead and google the Vagus Nerve. There’s some good information about this, thus far, understudied nerve that governs our parasympathetic nervous system. This is the part of our nervous system that gets us back into rest mode. We don’t need to be resting all the time, but we do want our overtaxed systems to remember how to get back to this state on its own. We can do this through practice. This one is simple, you just have to lie face down and focus on the breathing in your belly. It takes about 5 full minutes to activate the Vagus Nerve, if your back can handle it, stay a little longer.
